Senior Project Specialist at American Institutes for Research

Amber V. Dillard has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications and health promotion. Amber is currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist at the American Institutes for Research, where they apply their expertise in communications theories and practices to achieve the goals and objectives of multiple federal clients. In this role, they are responsible for managing and optimizing cross-channel multimedia digital/electronic, social media, print, website, email, outreach, broadcast, and SMS text message communications.

Prior to their current position, Dillard worked as an Interactive Marketing Account Strategist at DemandEngine from 2010 to 2014. In this role, they managed multiple higher education enrollment marketing client accounts and created a standardized training program to provide clients with expert-level guidance and support in implementing the company's marketing automation software platform. Amber also served as the art director and maintained relationships with vendors, printers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Before joining DemandEngine, Dillard worked at Paul Kennedy Catering as the Marketing Director and Front of House Operations Director from 2009 to 2010. During their time there, they founded the company's formal marketing program, managed social media and email marketing connections, and planned editorial content for the company's blog and email newsletters.

Dillard's earlier work experience includes roles at Cigna as a Health Counselor from 2004 to 2010, at EDC (Education Development Center) as an Information Services/Research Specialist from 2006 to 2009, and at the University of Kentucky as a Graduate Assistant (Residence Life Wellness Coordinator) from 2004 to 2006. In these positions, they developed and deployed various communication strategies, including email newsletters, website articles, and print materials, to promote topics such as health information, alcohol and drug abuse prevention, and violence prevention in higher education.

Dillard's first professional role was as a Patient Coordinator at Georgialina Physical Therapy from 2000 to 2004. In this position, they managed office operations, supervised therapy aides, and coordinated patient and clinical staff schedules for the largest physical therapy clinic in the Georgialina practice group.

Amber V. Dillard has a diverse education history. Amber obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Media Psychology from Fielding Graduate University, graduating in 2024. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Arts - MA in Psychology at the same institution from 2017 to 2020.

Before pursuing their graduate studies, Amber earned certificates in Graphic Design and Interactive/Web Design from Boston University in 2009. Amber also holds a Master of Science - MS in Health Promotion from the University of Kentucky, which they completed from 2004 to 2006. Amber'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Psychology and Business Management from Converse University, where they graduated in 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Amber has obtained several certifications. Amber became a Child Passenger Safety Technician through Safe Kids Worldwide in February 2020. In 2013, they were certified as a Bronto Specialist by Oracle + Bronto. Amber also holds an AdWords certification from Google, obtained in 2010. Furthermore, they became a Certified Health Education Specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc in 2006.
