Andrew Somers

Andrew Somers, PMP has diverse experience in project management and software development. Andrew'smost recent role was as a Software Project Manager at the American Institutes for Research, where they led a team in the development of a data warehouse platform for a large-scale USAID effort. Andrew utilized Agile Sprint methodology as well as Jira and Confluence to manage the project.

Prior to this, Andrew worked as a Project Manager at Amida Technology Solutions, where they led various data mapping and discovery projects. Andrew also played a key role in business development efforts by responding to RFPs and RFQs and developing a streamlined process for new business opportunities.

Before joining Amida, Andrew served as a Sr. Management Consultant at Blackstone Federal. During their tenure, they provided program and project management support for a DHS government project management office. Andrew also conducted business analysis, facilitated team coordination, and managed stakeholder relationships.

Earlier in their career, Andrew worked at Metaformers as a Leadership Development Candidate and Associate Consultant. Andrew contributed to a PeopleSoft ERP implementation project for a local government client and assisted in the development of the Leadership Development Candidate curriculum.

Overall, Andrew has proven expertise in project management, software development, data analysis, business development, and stakeholder management.

Andrew Somers, PMP, has a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree from Elon University - Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. Andrew obtained their degree in Business Administration and Management, General, between 2008 and 2012.

In 2015, Andrew enrolled in the University of Maryland Global Campus and completed their Master's in Management, focusing on Project Management. Andrew finished this program in 2017.

Andrew Somers has also obtained multiple certifications to enhance their skillset. In June 2017, they earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, Washington DC Chapter, Inc. Additionally, in April 2017, they obtained the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org. In July 2018, Andrew obtained the ITIL v3 Foundations Certification from AXELIOS.
