Chao Xie

Lead Psychometrician at American Institutes for Research

Chao Xie began their work experience in 2008 as a Research Assistant for the Program of Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation at the University of Maryland. They worked in this role until May 2012. From September 2012 to January 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Maryland Assessment Research Center for Education Success, once again at the University of Maryland. In February 2014, Chao Xie joined the American Institutes for Research as a Psychometrician and worked in this role until March 2016. From April 2016 to December 2019, they served as a Senior Psychometrician at the same organization. Starting in January 2020, Chao Xie has been working as the Lead Psychometrician at the American Institutes for Research.

Chao Xie's education history begins in 2001 when they earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from East China Normal University. They then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mathematics from the same university, completing it in 2008. Following that, Chao Xie attended the University of Maryland, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation. This degree was completed in 2014.
