Deborah Nicholas

Deborah Nicholas has over 14 years of work experience in various roles. Deborah is currently working as a Subcontracts Administrator and Manager at the American Institutes for Research since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at CDM Smith as a Federal Subcontracts Administrator from April 2019 to June 2022.

Before joining CDM Smith, Deborah worked at Airgas as an Inside Sales/Gatekeeper Specialist from October 2016 to January 2019. Their responsibilities included effectively communicating with customers, vendors, and internal departments, managing the gatekeeper process, and supporting government agencies and contractors.

Deborah's previous experience includes working at NAVSUP FLCN Caderock Bethesda as a General Supply Specialist from April 2015 to October 2016. Deborah demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills while leading a team in the shipping and receiving departments and managed projects, assets, and contracts/subcontracts.

Deborah also worked at Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor from November 2013 to November 2014, where they successfully managed tasks and priorities, resulting in increased sales and maintained inventory accuracy.

Deborah began their career in the US Navy as a Logistics Specialist from October 2008 to October 2013. Deborah was responsible for procurement, purchasing, and managing contracts and services while serving overseas.

Deborah Nicholas has a Master's degree in Global Affairs from George Mason University, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Global Affairs from the same university, from 2014 to 2019. Deborah also holds a High School Diploma from North Beach High School, which they earned from 2004 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Deborah has obtained several certifications. Deborah has a Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) Prep-Course Certificate from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), which they obtained in September 2021. Deborah also holds The FAR Bootcamp Certificate from The FAR Bootcamp, which they acquired in April 2021.
