Ilana Barach's work experience includes positions at various organizations. In 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at the DePaul University Center for Community Research. From 2009 to 2012, they served as a Graduate Research Associate at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, focusing on INNOVATIONS in Community Research and Program Evaluation. In 2013, they worked as a Community Food Justice Cultivator/AmeriCorps VISTA at the Presbyterian Hunger Program. From 2014 to 2021, they were a Research Analyst and later a Senior Research Analyst at IMPAQ International. Currently, they hold the position of Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, which they began in 2022.

Ilana Barach pursued their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed from 2004 to 2007.
