Research Associate at American Institutes for Research

Isabelle Edwards has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Isabelle started their career as a Server/Cashier at Bloop Frozen Yogurt in 2018 and later served as an Administrative Intern at Charlottesville Ballet. In 2019, Isabelle worked as Office Staff for the Cavalier Marching Band and also served as a Summer Guide at the UVa Office of Admission. Isabelle then became an Undergraduate Fellow at the University of Virginia in 2019 and continued this role until 2020. During this time, Isabelle also worked as a Research Assistant and Lead Scheduler at the University of Virginia on a research project studying the National Summer School Initiative.

Following this, Isabelle served as a Vice Chair for Community Relations at the UVa Honor Committee and represented the School of Education and Human Development as an Undergraduate Representative. In 2020, Isabelle became a Student Ambassador at the UVA School of Education and Human Development.

In 2021, Isabelle joined Prince Edward County Public Schools as a Policy Intern before moving on to work at the American Institutes for Research. At the American Institutes for Research, Isabelle held multiple roles, including Research Assistant and Research Associate. As a Research Assistant, they gained experience in various areas, such as DEI considerations, interview scheduling and coding, client management, data collection and management, and communications. Isabelle also performed miscellaneous work, including designing and managing project recruitment websites.

Isabelle Edwards began their education journey at Prince Edward County High School, where they earned an Advanced High School Diploma from 2013 to 2017. Following their high school graduation, they attended Southside Virginia Community College from 2015 to 2017 and graduated with an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree, with High Honors, in General Studies.

Isabelle then pursued further education at the University of Virginia from 2017 to 2021. During this time, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Education degree, with Honors, specializing in Youth & Social Innovation.

In addition to their formal education, Isabelle also obtained several certifications. In September 2019, they completed the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) certification through the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. In May 2020, they acquired the Unconscious Bias certification from LinkedIn. Isabelle further demonstrated their commitment to personal and professional development by acquiring the certifications "Enhance Your Productivity with Effective Note-Taking" and "The Six Morning Habits of High Performers" from LinkedIn in July 2021. Isabelle obtained the Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Online Only certification from the American Red Cross in December 2020. Additionally, they completed the IRB-SBS Researcher Basic Course, No Prisoners, through the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in September 2019. Notably, Isabelle also achieved the CLASS Observer Secondary certification from Teachstone in October 2021, highlighting their dedication to enhancing their skills and knowledge in their field.
