Kathleen Abel

Kathleen ABEL is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching English literature and composition. Currently serving as the Director of Learning Innovation and Head of the English Department at the American International School of Hong Kong since August 2013, Kathleen has taught a range of courses for grades 9-12, including AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Seminar, and AP Research. Prior to this role, Kathleen spent nearly a decade at Show Low High School from January 2004 to May 2013, where an AP English program was initiated alongside a colleague, focusing on advanced literature and preparation courses for students. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Northern Arizona University, supplemented by various advanced studies at institutions such as the University of Phoenix and The Education University of Hong Kong.
