Richard Beyer has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Richard has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. From 1977 to 1994, they worked as a Technical Manager/System Sales Engineer at The Computer Store, where they were responsible for computer system design, implementation, and technical support. Richard then worked as a Systems Consultant at Peripheral Concepts in 1996. From 1997 to 2016, they served as the Technology Director at HLG Health Communications, where they handled Active Directory infrastructure design, support for endpoint systems, and deployment of web servers. From 2010 to 2016, they were the Principal and Owner of Technology On Purpose, LLC, providing technology and information security consulting services. Currently, since 2016, they hold the position of Director of Information Technology at The American Law Institute, where they oversee the institute's networks, systems, databases, and websites.

Richard Beyer has a diverse education history. Richard obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Saint Joseph's University, which they attended from 1971 to 1975. In 1976 and 1977, they pursued graduate studies in Experimental Psychology at Villanova University. A few years later, from 2001 to 2003, Richard earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Technology & Electronic Commerce from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Apart from their academic achievements, Richard Beyer has also obtained several certifications. In January 2010, they became a Certified Data Recovery Expert (CDRE). Subsequently, they obtained certification as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in April 2011. In February 2012, they achieved the EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) certification. Richard expanded their credentials further by becoming a Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) in September 2013, and a Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE) in November 2013 through EC-Council and the Information Assurance Certification Review Board (IACRB), respectively. In May 2015, they acquired the CompTIA Security+ ce certification. Richard's most recent certifications include being a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², which they obtained in November 2016, and a Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Ops (CCNA Cyber Ops), attained in March 2018 from Cisco.
