Sam Fitzgerald

Sam Fitzgerald is a seasoned Design Engineer currently contributing to American Magic as part of the Challenger team for the 37th America's Cup since June 2022. With extensive experience in yacht design and engineering, Sam serves as the Owner of SF Yacht Design since August 2014 and was previously a Shore Team Member at 11th Hour Racing in 2020. Other professional experiences include a Design Associate role at Langan Design Partners, LLC., and a position in Enterprise Sales Development at Cloudwords, Inc. Additionally, Sam has held leadership roles at American Yacht Club, overseeing program management and coaching. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Maritime Engineering Science from the University of Southampton, a Certificate in Yacht Design from The Landing School, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Washington College.
