Samuel Garfield

Samuel Garfield has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Samuel started their career in 2008 as a 3rd Mate at Maersk Line. Samuel then worked as a 2nd Mate at Ocean Shipholdings Inc. from 2009 to 2014. In 2015, they were a 2nd Mate at TOTE Inc. In 2008, they joined American Maritime Officers as a Chief Mate, a role they also held at American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier Group from 2017. Samuel'smost recent position is Superintendent at SSA Marine starting from August 2019.

Samuel Garfield obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marine Transportation from Maine Maritime Academy, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. In 2013, they received a certification as a Captain Unlimited tonnage from the U.S. Coast Guard. Later, from 2015 to 2016, Samuel pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
