Mary Vares

Mary Vares, CPA, serves as the Controller for the American Marketing Association since July 2024 and has held several key financial leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer at Nexus Recovery Center and Promise House, as well as Controller at the Coleridge Initiative. Over the years, Vares has demonstrated expertise in overseeing financial operations and reporting across various organizations, including Catholic Charities of Dallas and The Dallas Arboretum & Botanic Garden. With a strong background in finance, Vares has also contributed as Vice President of Finance and Operations at Dallas Women's Foundation and Vice President of Accounting/Controller at The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Vares began the career as a Search Consultant at Thomas Edwards Group, focusing on candidate recruitment and assessment. Vares holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at El Paso.
