Sandy Marks has extensive experience in health policy and advocacy, currently serving as the Senior Assistant Director of Federal Affairs at the American Medical Association since 1987. In this role, Sandy focuses on value-based payment models, Medicare physician payment and telehealth policy, as well as addressing issues surrounding the drug overdose epidemic and pain management. Previously, Sandy held the position of Director of Physician Payment Systems, managing the Relative Value Scale Update Committee during its initial six years and contributing to AMA policy development on physician payment issues. Sandy's career began at Northwestern University, where positions included Senior Health Policy Analyst and Assistant Director of the Center for Health Services and Policy Research. Sandy holds a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Northwestern University's College of Arts & Sciences.
