American Mock Trial Association
Derick Maina currently serves as a Resident Assistant at North Central College, where responsibilities include supporting new college members, managing documentation of residents, and facilitating communication between students and administration. Additionally, Derick holds positions as a Student Staff member in North Central Athletics and the Office of Development and Alumni Engagement, performing various administrative tasks and quality assurance within athletics facilities. As a Law Student competitor in the American Mock Trial Association, Derick participates in intercollegiate competitions, showcasing skills in public speaking and legal understanding. American Mock Trial Association
The American Mock Trial Association was founded in 1985 by Dean Richard Calkins of Drake Law School. AMTA serves as the governing body for intercollegiate mock trial on a national level, which teaches public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork through a legal forum.
