Kimberly Schlichting serves as the President and CEO of The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation since November 2003, with prior roles including COO - SVP Power Supply and Senior Vice President Operations & Power Supply. Schlichting is a member of the Board of Trustees for American Municipal Power, Inc. and previously held a position on the Board of Directors for the American Public Power Association from June 2016 to June 2022. Earlier experience includes serving as Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Smyrna, Delaware, where responsibilities included overseeing municipal operations and establishing a planning/zoning and building/inspections department. Schlichting's technical background features roles as a Building Inspector, ensuring compliance with building codes, and as a CAD Designer. Educational credentials include an MBA and a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering Design from Delaware State University, along with an Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology from Delaware Technical & Community College.
