Ravi Corea has extensive experience in wildlife conservation, serving as President of the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society since October 1995, where innovative community-based strategies were developed to address human-elephant conflicts, earning a UNDP Equator Prize in 2008 and a Sri Lanka National Science Foundation award in 2010. Additionally, since January 2008, Ravi has been the Coordinator of the Human-elephant Conflict Task Force for the IUCN/SSC Asian Specialist Group and has acted as a Scientific Consultant for the Herpetology Department at the American Museum of Natural History since November 1994, focusing on digitizing historic frog call collections and curatorial assistance. Previous experience includes work as an Assistant to the Director of Program Development at the Wildlife Conservation Society from January 1997 to November 1998 and as an Alumni of Columbia University, where a BA in Conservation Biology and Bio-physical Anthropology was earned between 1996 and 2003.
