Emily Hurst

Emily K. Hurst, DO, is AOA board-certified in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine.

She currently treats patients as an Intensivist for the Henry Ford Health System where she is Chair of the Ethics and Supportive Care Committees for Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

Dr. Hurst is the medical director for Avera eCARE’s ICU where she is also a virtual Intensivist that serves critical care communities across the United States.

She has served as clinical faculty for Michigan State University since 2006, and is the medical director of the Canterbury on the Lake Retirement Community in Waterford, Michigan. Previously, she served as an internal medicine program director for the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority while she worked as a Geriatric Internist with the Internal Medicine Physician Acute Care Team in the greater Detroit area.

Dr. Hurst graduated with a DO degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Her Hospice and Palliative Care training was at Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan and her Critical Care fellowship was at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
