James Lally

James M. Lally, DO, MMM, is an AOA board-certified osteopathic family physician. A fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Dr. Lally serves as chief medical officer of Health Service Alliance, a local Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). He also is a clinical professor of family medicine at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (WesternU/COMP) in Pomona, California, and at Touro University California, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo. He is the founding medical director of the University of La Verne’s Physician Assistant program.

Dr. Lally has been the USA Shooting Team physician since 1993, traveling with the team to world cups, world championships and the Olympics. He serves as chairman of the International Shooting Sports Federation medical committee and is an active member of the International Olympic Committee’s medical committee. He is headed for his seventh Olympic Games at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

He is past president of the American Osteopathic Foundation and has served in numerous positions of responsibility and leadership within the osteopathic profession at local, state and national levels.

He was trained by the Army to be a Physician Assistant and when he was medically retired, Dr. Lally earned his osteopathic medical degree from what is now WesternU/COMP. He completed his internship and residency training at the former Doctors’ Hospital of Montclair (California), where he served as chief resident and later was the program director.

He lives with wife, Rebecca, an attorney, in Upland, California. His adult son, Joshua, lives nearby and he lost his only daughter, Kaitlyn Bai, in 2018 at the age of 22.
