Michelle Harman McDonald has extensive work experience in various nonprofit organizations. Michelle began their career in 1994 at the Alzheimer's Association as an Associate Director, eventually becoming the Executive Director of the Southern New Jersey chapter. In 2000, they moved on to JANUS Solutions, working as a Senior Consultant in Organizational Development. Michelle then joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2003 as the Vice President of Field Management. In 2009, they became the Director of Operations at the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey. Michelle'smost recent position, starting in 2012, is as the Senior Vice President of Chapter Development & Field Operations at the American Parkinson Disease Association.
Michelle Harman McDonald holds a Masters Degree in Social Work (APP) and a Bachelors Degree with a major in Social Work and a minor in Women's Studies. Michelle obtained these degrees at Rutgers, The State University of NJ, focusing on Organizational Design & Macro Systems Change.

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is the largest grassroots network dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s disease (PD) and works tirelessly to help the approximately one million with PD in the United States live life to the fullest in the face of this chronic, neurological disorder. Founded in 1961, APDA has raised and invested more than $226 million to provide outstanding patient services and educational programs, elevate public awareness about the disease, and support research designed to unlock the mysteries of PD and ultimately put an end to this disease.
