Ryan Meyers is senior vice president and general counsel of the American Petroleum Institute, where he advises on a broad range of compliance and litigation matters.
Meyers has nearly 20 years of DC-based legal experience and has served in all three branches of the federal government, including in senior positions at the Senate Judiciary Committee, Department of the Treasury, and Department of Commerce. Before joining API, Meyers spent a decade at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he served as vice president and deputy general counsel and was responsible for managing the Chamber’s litigation matters and ensuring legal compliance with the Chamber’s political and lobbying programs.
Meyers earned his law degree with honors from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the Law Review. He then clerked for Judge Morris S. Arnold of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
