Matteo Rini

Editor, Physics Magazine at American Physical Society

Matteo Rini is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in science communication and academia. Currently serving as Editor for Physics Magazine at the American Physical Society since December 2020 and as an Adjunct Professor at New York University since January 2020, Rini has a strong background in editorial leadership and teaching. Prior to these roles, Rini was Deputy Editor and Media Contact at the American Physical Society from July 2012 to January 2020, and also contributed to climate change policy as a Policy Officer at the European Commission from June 2009 to June 2012. Rini's research background includes a position as Scientist at Berkeley Lab from 2004 to 2009 and prior roles as Ph.D. student at the MAX BORN INSTITUTE and the University of Pavia. Rini holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin and Università di Pavia, respectively.
