Props Artisan & Core Production Staff at American Players Theatre

I started working with APT in its first season in 1980. Having grown up in Plain, just a north of Spring Green, and having worked with the local community theater for years, APT’s arrival into the area was like a dream come true, launching a career in the arts that is vital still. Many hats have rested on my head in my years with APT (I have missed only five seasons). I’ve run shows, been in shows, designed props and a few sets, worked in the costume shop and done a few more odds and ends. But the hat that fits best is the one I’ve worn since 1990 as the props artisan evolving into props carpenter where every season brings a new challenge to create the furniture needed for the shows that we just don’t have in stock or just can’t buy. It is a thrill and I hope to keep at it for several more years.
