Kimberly Mealy has a diverse and extensive work experience primarily focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Kimberly currently holds the position of Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Strategic Initiatives at the American Political Science Association. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the same organization, where they were responsible for strategic leadership and change management in the domain of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Kimberly also worked as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion Programs, focusing on program development, mentoring, and recruitment strategies for scholars from underrepresented groups. Before joining the American Political Science Association, Kimberly Mealy worked at Wellesley College as a Visiting Assistant Professor, teaching courses in American politics and advising students on career and post-graduate studies.
Kimberly Mealy holds a PhD in Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington. Kimberly also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a concentration in Black Studies, from Swarthmore College. Additionally, they have completed certifications in Leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and in Discussing Racism with Dr. Christina Greer from LinkedIn.
