Stephen Jefferson

Stephen Jefferson is an experienced technology professional with a strong background in developing innovative solutions for local newsrooms and community engagement. As a Senior Applications Engineer at the American Press Institute since January 2022, Stephen applies expertise gained from founding and directing Bloom Labs Incorporated, a consultancy focused on location-based technologies and digital strategies for newsrooms. Previous roles include a Designer at Tagbox, where Stephen contributed to the launch of AI products for local publishers, and Co-Founder of ACT DC, which aimed to enhance media literacy through community resources. Additional experience includes web development roles at Greenfield Belser and Ferrari of Washington, along with founding the Loudoun County Skate Project, a non-profit dedicated to youth recreation. Stephen holds a Fellowship in Entrepreneurial Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and degrees in Information Technology.
