Monique Hernandez has a diverse work experience in the education field. Monique started their career as a 5th and 6th Grade Teacher at Family Life Academy Charter School in 2010, where they worked until 2014. Monique then moved on to Hyde Leadership Charter School, where they served as the 4th and 5th Grade Academic Dean from 2014 to 2016. Since 2016, Monique has been working at American Reading Company, initially as an Executive Coach and later as the Regional Vice President of Academic Design. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Teaching and Learning at the same company.

Monique Hernandez holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership from Fordham University. Monique also has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. Monique'sundergraduate education was completed at Rutgers University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology.
