Founded in 1966 as the American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPPA), the American Retirement Association (ARA) is a non-profit professional organization that has a long and storied reputation of educating retirement plan professionals and creating a framework of policy that gives every working American the ability to have a comfortable retirement. 

Comprised of five premier retirement industry associations – the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries (ASEA), the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), the National Tax-deferred Savings Association (NTSA), and the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA) –  the American Retirement Association’s 20,000+ members include business owners, actuaries, consultants, administrators, insurance professionals, financial advisors, accountants, attorneys, and human resource managers.

The Education and Instructional Design Team at the American Retirement Association is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive educational programs for retirement plan professionals. This includes creating instructional materials, managing educational operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing expert guidance on retirement education. Their goal is to equip ARA members with the knowledge and skills necessary to support effective retirement planning and administration.
