Vice President For Conservation Strategies at American Rivers

Jenny Hoffner has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jenny worked as the Vice President for Conservation Strategies at American Rivers, where they led a team focused on river protection, restoration, and conservation. Jenny worked on various national initiatives and Georgia-based projects related to urban transformation and water justice. Prior to joining American Rivers, Jenny served as a Senior Director and Co-Lead for Clean Water Supply at the same organization.

Before their role at American Rivers, Jenny worked as a Consultant at Polliwog, Inc. from 2005 to 2007. Jenny also held the position of Director at Partnerships for Parks from 2003 to 2005, where they played a vital role in managing the organization's activities.

Jenny's experience also includes working as the Director at Waterways & Trailways Alliance from 1999 to 2002. During this time, they focused on directing and coordinating efforts to restore and protect the Bronx River and its greenway. Jenny played a key role in leveraging public and private funding for various projects and managed grants for land acquisition and protection. Jenny Hoffner's education history is as follows:

From 1987 to 1991, they attended Emory University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Human & Natural Ecology, with a focus on Anthropology.

Between 1994 and 1997, Jenny pursued a Master's of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree at The University of Georgia, specializing in Landscape Architecture.

In 1995 and 1996, they also enrolled in courses at the Georgia Institute of Technology, focusing on City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning.

Most recently, in 2018 and 2019, Jenny attended the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study during this time.

In addition to their formal education, Jenny Hoffman furthered their knowledge and skills through additional certifications. In 2016, they completed the Racial Justice Leadership Institute at Race Forward.
