April Toxey

Director at American School of Doha

April has been an active member of the ASD community throughout her time in Doha, with a proven track record of volunteerism and involvement. Her children Trent and William have gone through high school and she is connected with other parents who have students at all levels from LES through MS.

April has lived in Qatar for over 4 years and has been actively involved with ASD PTA for nearly as long. She organized Dinner Dance for two years, Sponsorship for one year and a Staff Appreciation Lunch. She has many years as an expat in several countries with different school systems (British and American), and has been able to adapt and engage in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic populations.

She organized fundraising events for the American Women’s Association in Jakarta Indonesia for two years and designed their monthly publication “Kayon”. She also organized Astana Burns Supper for two years in Kazakhstan (money raised was donated to a local charity). In Astana, she was the co-swim coach for Haileybury Astana for the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) games held in Athens, Greece.

From 2015 to 2019, April had the opportunity to teach swim lessons and stroke improvement to various children between the ages of 3 to 10 years old. She had been a Swim Instructor in Kazakhstan, Texas and Qatar. Prior to this, she had her marketing and public relations career in Arizona and in Texas.
