Cliff Perry

Director, Head of Research at American Securities

Cliff Perry is the Director and Head of Research at American Securities. Cliff has over ten years of experience in market research and competitive intelligence, with a focus on the financial services industry.

Mr. Perry began their career at The Blackstone Group, where they served as Vice President from 2008 to 2009. In this role, they managed resources, market data, and led high-performance research teams in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment. Cliff was responsible for counseling CEOs, CFOs, and Partners on best-in-class competitive intelligence resources, and for performing information needs assessments to identify weaknesses and strengths within the company. Mr. Perry also implemented an outreach program to business units, which marketed research services and resulted in significant usage by previously underserved business units.

In 2010, Mr. Perry joined Royal Bank of Scotland as Vice President. In this role, they were responsible for expenditure and usage analysis, identifying and reducing redundancies, renegotiating existing contracts, recycling IDs, and sourcing competitors to extract material savings. Cliff also integrated an offshore research team, which increased research output and created greater team efficiency, allowing onshore teams to focus on complex analysis. In addition, Mr. Perry provided due diligence research to identify areas of concern that might negatively impact an investment.

Mr. Perry has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Cliff Perry received their MLS from the University at Albany, SUNY in the field of information science. Cliff also received their BA from the University at Albany, SUNY in the field of information science.

They are on a team with Femi Palmer - Managing Directors, Ee-Ping Ong - Managing Director, and Natasha Kingshott - Vice President. Their manager is Michael Fisch, Founder & CEO.
