Frank Hermance

Frank Hermance is Chairman of the Board of UGI Corporation and UGI Utilities. UGI Corporation is a natural gas and electric power distribution company headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with extensive operations in the United States and Europe. UGI owns AmeriGas, the largest propane marketer in the United States. UGI also owns AvantiGas, Antar, and Flaga in Europe. Prior to being named Chairman in 2020, Mr. Hermance was a Director of UGI Corporation and UGI Utilities from 2011 and Amerigas from 2018 until its merger into UGI in 2019.

Prior to UGI, Mr. Hermance was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMETEK, Inc. He was also Executive Chairman of the Board of AMETEK from May 2016 to July 2017. Mr. Hermance had 27 years of service with AMETEK, joining the company as Group Vice President in 1990. He was elected President of the Electronic Instruments Group in 1994, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 1996, President and Chief Operating Officer in 1996, President and Chief Executive Officer in 1999, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2001.

Prior to AMETEK, Mr. Hermance held senior management positions at Tektronix, Inc. and Taylor Instruments. He was a Director of IDEX Corporation from 2004 to 2012, Director of CTB International Corp. from 1997 to 2002, Director of Portland Community College from 1987 to 1990, and Director of Sony Tektronix from 1987 to 1989.

Mr. Hermance is Director Emeritus of the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies. He serves as Vice Chairman of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and previously served on the Board of Trustees at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2016. Mr. Hermance was also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Manufacturers’ Alliance for Productivity and Innovation.

Mr. Hermance earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.
