James Guo

Director & China Office Manager at American Securities

James Guo joined American Securities in 2012. He leads the day to day operation of the China office and provides strategic and tactic supports to our portfolio companies in improving business performance in Asia. James also supports due diligence on potential U.S. acquisitions with Asia-Pacific implications.

Prior to joining American Securities, James was with AlixPartners where he was a vice president and Director working on business turnarounds, operational performance improvement, growth strategy and sourcing strategies for companies in the Asia Pacific. Before AlixPartners, James held management roles in engineering, sales, large project P&L management, global sourcing and operations with United Technologies and Shanghai Port Machinery in both China and the US. James has more than 18 years of business experience covering various industries, including automotive, machinery, electronics, chemical, distribution and media, with projects in Asia, North American and Europe. His expertise includes market entry and growth strategy, acquisition, enterprise restructuring, operational excellence, post-merger integration, global sourcing, new product development and quality management. He has a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate.

James received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Qingdau Technology University, an MS in Engineering from University of Michigan, and an MBA from Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands.
