Sheila Aten Sphr

Sheila Aten, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Currently, they are the Director of Human Resources at American Sleep Medicine. Prior to this, they worked as a Human Resources Specialist at Human Resource Advisors, LTD.

From 2007 to 2021, Sheila held various roles at Johnson Controls, including Regional HR Manager and Human Resources Manager. In these positions, they provided HR services such as organization design, talent management, employee effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, change management, and positive employee relations. Sheila also managed benefit plans, implemented employee orientation and enrollment, and served as a human resources advisor to senior executives and manufacturing managers.

From 1994 to 2007, Sheila worked as the Corporate HR Director at Packaging Unlimited. In this role, they established and managed the HR department and was responsible for developing employee manuals and policies, managing a section 125 cafeteria plan, and implementing employee orientation and enrollment for all divisions and subsidiaries.

Sheila Aten, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor's degree in Welfare Management from Shemiran University. In addition to their academic background, they have obtained several certifications including the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in May 2008, the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM in May 2021, and the Red Cross First Aid CPR Instructor certification from the American Red Cross in January 2000.
