Joseph Swaress has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Joseph started their career in 2017 as a Server Assistant at The Melting Pot Restaurants. In 2019, they worked as a Medical Documentation Editor at EXPERT PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATES, LLC. In 2021, they became the Secretary of Learn Club, and later in 2022, they assumed the role of Vice President. In the same year, they also served as a Supplemental Instructor and Tutor at the Center for Learning And Student Success (CLASS). In 2023, they worked as an Emergency Room Scribe at ScribeAmerica. Joseph also held leadership positions at the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), serving as the Secretary from 2022 to 2023 and the President from 2023 onwards. The Society's purpose is to advance the science of biochemistry and molecular biology through publication of scientific and educational journals: the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Molecular & Cellular Proteomics, and the Journal of Lipid Research, organization of scientific meetings, advocacy for funding of basic research and education, support of science education at all levels, and promoting the diversity of individuals entering the scientific workforce.
