Jennifer Goupil, P.E., F.SEI, F.ASCE, currently serves as the Chief Resilience Officer at the American Society of Civil Engineers, a role held since March 2011, where strategic thought and tactical leadership are provided in resilient design for the built environment. Additionally, Jennifer leads the 30,000+ member Structural Engineering Institute and oversees the Construction Institute, Architectural Engineering Institute, and Infrastructure Resilience Division. Prior editorial positions were held at Structural Engineering & Design magazine and Structural Engineer magazine, along with roles as a structural engineer at firms including Skilling Ward Magnusson Barkshire, Jirsa + Hedrick & Associates, and Skidmore Owings Merrill. Jennifer holds a Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
