Barton J. Lawyer

VP, Information Technology at American Society Of Clinical Oncology

Mr. Lawyer joined ASCO in 2020, and is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide implementation of technology solutions that deliver high-quality, personalized user experiences, streamline processes, and keep data secure. He has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology industry.

Mr. Lawyer served as Assistant Director of IT, Enterprise Systems and Support at Duke University, where he led a multi-disciplinary team and managed large-scale systems and applications. In addition, he served in IT roles at Harvard University and The College of New Jersey. During his career, he has championed the use of enterprise-wide solutions that eliminate redundancies and centralize systems, as well as implementing technology that is as state-of-the-art as it is secure.

Mr. Lawyer holds a B.A. in Mathematics from The College of New Jersey, as well as minors in Statistics and Physics. He also earned certifications in Oracle and Microsoft Systems.
