Rebecca Spence

Rebecca Spence is a seasoned legal professional specializing in ethics and compliance, currently serving as Chief Counsel for Ethics at the American Society of Clinical Oncology since August 2012, with previous roles including Chief Ethics Counsel and Senior Ethics Counsel and Compliance Officer. Spence began as a Reproductive Justice Legal Fellow at the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum and has experience as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Eastern District of Virginia. Additional legal roles include contributing to The Big Push for Midwives, interning at the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions, and clerking for UNAIDS and the National Partnership for Women & Families. Spence holds a JD in Health Law from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, an MPH in Health Law, Policy, and Ethics from the University of Virginia, an AB in Religion and Women's Studies from Vassar College, and has studied Divinity at the University of St Andrews.
