American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)

The American Society for Gastrotinestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) advances patient care and digestive health by promoting excellence and innovation in endoscopy. ASGE, with more than 15,000 members worldwide, promotes the highest standards for endoscopic training and practice, fosters endoscopic research, recognizes distinguished contributions to endoscopy, and is the foremost resource for endoscopic education. ASGE physicians have highly specialized training in endoscopic procedures of the digestive tract, including upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). ASGE is the only medical society that requires documentation of specific training in GI endoscopic procedures. In 2013, ASGE opened the Institute for Training and Technology (IT&T), a state-of-the-art training facility. Training at the IT&T offers access to advanced technology in a unique, retreat-like setting. ASGE as well as other medical specialties can leverage the technological capabilities of the IT&T to provide unparalleled training and education at the IT&T and throughout the world through Internet 2 or satellite.
