Alex Wendland

Director of Communications at American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy

Alex Wendland is currently the Director of Communications at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy. Alex has been in the communications field for over 10 years and has experience working in a variety of industries. Alex started their career as an intern/reporter for OnMilwaukee.com and then went on to work as a sports business reporter for Medill News Service. Alex then transitioned into the ticket sales industry, working as a ticket sales assistant for UWM Athletics. After a few years in ticket sales, Alex decided to pursue a career in communications and got a job as an editor for Ground Support Worldwide. Alex then worked as a digital communications manager for the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy before being promoted to their current role as Director of Communications.

Alex Wendland earned their Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. Alex also holds a BS in Print Journalism and a BS in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Alex is a certified Google Analytics and Google AdWords professional.
