DeeAnn Wedemeyer-Oleson, PharmD, MHA, CPHQ, CPPS, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. DeeAnn currently holds the position of Director, Scientific Projects, Special Projects at ASHP, a role they have been in since July 2021. Prior to this, DeeAnn worked at Guthrie County Hospital & Clinics for over 20 years, starting as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist - PRN and eventually becoming the Director of Clinical Safety, Quality, and Compliance as well as the Director of Pharmacy.

In addition to their hospital work, DeeAnn has also served as a Columnist at McMahon Publishing from May 2005 to November 2007. DeeAnn has held teaching positions as an Instructor at Des Moines University from May 2003 to May 2005, and as an Instructor at Des Moines Area Community College from January 2001 to May 2004.

DeeAnn's early career includes a Pharmacy Residency in Geriatric Clinical Pharmacy Specialty at the Veterans Affairs Hospital from July 1999 to June 2000. DeeAnn also worked as a Pharmacist-Intern at MATHER PHARMACY from August 1997 to June 1999, and as a Pharmacy Technician at IOWA METHODIST MEDICAL CENTER from November 1992 to August 1997.

Furthermore, DeeAnn has gained experience in the field of pharmacy association work as an Executive Intern at the Iowa Pharmacy Association in June 1996.

DeeAnn Wedemeyer-Oleson, PharmD, MHA, CPHQ, CPPS, completed their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at Drake University in 1999, with a major in Pharmacy and a minor in Religion. DeeAnn later pursued a Master's of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at Des Moines University, which they completed in 2020.

In addition to their academic degrees, DeeAnn has acquired several certifications. DeeAnn holds an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association and is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. DeeAnn is recognized as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) by the National Association for Healthcare Quality and also holds the designation of Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) from the IHI - Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.

Moreover, DeeAnn has completed Lean methodology training from the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative in 2017 and is a licensed pharmacist in the state of Iowa, regulated by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. DeeAnn has participated in a Quality Residency Program offered by the Iowa Hospital Association in 2016 and received TeamSTEPPS Trainer training from the University of Iowa in 2017.
