Emilia (Emily) Arturo, Ph.D., currently serves as the Senior Managing Editor for Blood and Blood Global Hematology at the American Society of Hematology since August 2023. Prior to this role, Emilia was the Senior Science Coordinator and Managing Editor at the American Association of Immunologists from September 2021 to August 2023. Emilia's research experience includes work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Saphire laboratory in both the La Jolla Institute for Immunology and The Scripps Research Institute, focusing on protein constructs for diagnostics and vaccine development, as well as structural analysis of viral proteins. Emilia earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Structural Biology from Drexel University College of Medicine and holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and Biology from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
