Michelle Lara is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing international programs, currently serving as Senior Manager of International Programs at the American Society of Hematology since September 2007. Previously, Michelle held roles including International Programs Manager and Specialist, focusing on capacity building in low- and middle-income countries, and actively participated in international conferences across Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Prior to this, Michelle worked as a Medical Assistant with Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC, Inc., providing clinical support and patient education. Michelle's earlier experience includes serving as an English Language Consultant at China Pictorial and teaching English to college instructors in China. Michelle holds a Master of Arts in Spanish and Latin American Studies from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art/Archaeology from SOAS University of London.
