Thomas Maddrey has a diverse work experience in the fields of law, photography, and consulting. Thomas currently holds the position of Chief Legal Officer & Head of National Content and Education at ASMP: The American Society of Media Photographers since November 2022. Prior to that, they served as General Counsel & Head of National Content and Education at ASMP from March 2021 to November 2022. In 2021, they also started their own consulting firm called Maddrey Creative Consulting.

Before their roles in ASMP and their consulting firm, Thomas Maddrey worked as an Attorney and Principal at Maddrey PLLC from September 2015 to March 2021, specializing in creative, business, and law. Thomas also worked as an Attorney at Harrison & Hull, LLP from August 2014 to September 2015.

In addition to their legal career, Thomas Maddrey founded Eclipse Photography Institute in 2005, where they served as the Founder until September 2015. Thomas also had internships and legal roles at the Collin County Attorney's Office, The Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, U.S. Magistrate Judge, The Eastern District of Texas, and Harrison & Hull, LLP.

Thomas Maddrey's early work experience includes running their own photography business, Tom Maddrey Images from 2003 to 2011, and co-founding and managing Blue Square Art, a fine art photography gallery, from 2006 to 2009.

Thomas Maddrey attended Tulane University from 2000 to 2002, where they studied Philosophy. From 2003 to 2005, they attended Brooks Institute and obtained a B.A. in Commercial Photography. Thomas then pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business at The University of Texas at Dallas from 2006 to 2009. Finally, from 2011 to 2014, they attended Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and obtained a JD in Law.
