Melissa Pergola, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M), FASRT has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Melissa currently holds the position of CEO and Executive Director of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and CEO of the ASRT Foundation since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy CEO of the ASRT from July 2022 to January 2023. From July 2021 to October 2022, Melissa served as the Executive Vice President of Governance and Public Policy at the ASRT.

Before joining the ASRT, Melissa worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University from January 2010 to October 2022. Melissa was responsible for teaching and guiding students in the field of radiologic technology.

Melissa also gained valuable experience working at Siemens Healthineers, where they served as the HR People and Leadership Americas from February 2021 to July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Competency Management Development Specialist from May 2015 to February 2021.

At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Melissa held the position of Assistant Professor from October 2004 to May 2015. Melissa contributed to the academic and research activities in the field of radiologic technology.

Melissa Pergola, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M), FASRT has an extensive and diverse education history. Melissa earned their Certificate in Radiologic Technology from Wilkes Regional Medical Center between 1988 and 1990. Following this, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing their studies from 1990 to 1993. Melissa continued their education at North Carolina State University, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Professions Education from 1997 to 2000. Building upon their master's, they later achieved a Doctorate in Health Professions Education from the same institution, studying between 2000 and 2005. Furthermore, Melissa is a distinguished professional within their field, as indicated by their FASRT designation.
