Director, Communications And Marketing at American Thoracic Society

Dacia Morris has extensive experience in communications and marketing roles. From 2015 to the present, they have served as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the American Thoracic Society, where they lead the team in developing and implementing new marketing initiatives. Dacia has also successfully led the Lung Health Campaign with USA Today, focusing on educating and introducing a new audience to the ATS. Prior to this, Dacia worked as a Science Writer/Media Specialist at the American Thoracic Society and as a Public Information Officer at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia Psychiatry. Dacia has also worked as a Special Events Publicist at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, and as a Press Officer at the Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Hospital.

Dacia Morris completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communications at Cornell University from 1990 to 1994. Dacia further pursued their education at Fordham University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree specializing in Social Work. In addition to their formal education, Dacia also holds certifications in "Speaking Confidently and Effectively" and "Help Your Team Prioritize What Matters Most" from LinkedIn, acquired in 2023.
