Leka Papazisi

Leka Papazisi is a highly experienced scientist in the field of microbiology and diagnostics, currently serving as Principal Scientist in Microbiology Product Life Cycle Management at ATCC since September 2019. Prior to this role, Leka held positions including Director of Microbiology R&D at OpGen, Inc. and Manager of R&D Microbiology and Assay Development at Canon U.S. Life Sciences. Leka's expertise includes leading teams, developing innovative diagnostic assays, and contributing significantly to genomics research at esteemed institutions like the J. Craig Venter Institute and the Center of Excellence for Vaccine Research. Leka holds a Ph.D. in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut and has a strong academic background in veterinary microbiology, with additional degrees from Vetmeduni and the Agricultural University of Tirana.
