Since 1998, Dr. Griffith has been a medical director at Johns Hopkins Medicine International. He trained in surgery and internal medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, and cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH). In 1971, Dr. Griffith joined the full-time faculty in the School of Medicine and was promoted to Professor in 1988. During his time at JHH, Dr. Griffith has been the Director of the Adult Catheterization Laboratory, and clinician on the Arrhythmia Service when Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators were first used clinically. Dr. Griffith was director of the Physical Diagnosis Course for second year medical students for twenty-two years and, since 1996, director of a large initiative to improve communication with Community Referring Physicians.
