Yasmeen Makarem

Yasmeen Makarem is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Development at the American University of Beirut since August 2019 and serves as the Managing Editor for the Human Resource Development Review, an SSCI journal, since July 2017. Yasmeen's previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development and as a Consultant and Learning Coordinator at Hay Group and PwC, respectively. Yasmeen's academic career began at the American University of Beirut, where responsibilities included managing the USAID University Scholarship Program and conducting research on projects such as Urban Agriculture in Ein el-Helweh Palestinian Camp and WASH interventions for Syrian refugees. Yasmeen holds a PhD in Human Resources Development from Texas A&M University, an MA in Human Resources Management from the American University of Beirut, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Lebanese American University, and a Lebanese Baccalaureate in Sociology and Economics from Saint Mary's Orthodox College.
