Sarah Baldassaro

Sarah Baldassaro serves as Chief of Staff and Counselor to the President at American University since November 2021. Prior to this role, Sarah held various positions at The George Washington University from March 2009 to November 2021, including Interim Vice President for Communications and Marketing, Associate Vice President for Communications, and Assistant Vice President for Communications. Sarah's earlier career includes significant roles in political communications, such as Communications Director for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Communications Director for Teresa Heinz Kerry during the 2004 campaign. Additionally, Sarah has experience at The Glover Park Group, The White House, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan, earned in 1995.
