Valerie Malter

Valerie Malter is currently a Master's student at American University since August 2024. Prior to this role, Valerie served as the Director of Strategy for the Impact Management Team at NatureVest, a part of The Nature Conservancy, from December 2022 to August 2024, providing advisory support to investment partnerships. Valerie co-founded Matarin Capital Management and held the position of CEO from July 2010 to March 2021, where the firm focused on quantitatively driven investment strategies. Previously, Valerie was the Director of the Wharton Program for Social Impact at The Wharton School and served as Managing Director at JPMorgan Investment Management. Additional experience includes roles as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Zurich Scudder Investments and Analyst & Portfolio Manager at Chancellor Capital Management. Valerie holds a BSBA in Finance from Boston University and pursued further education at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
