Lisa Fortier

Chief Publications Officer at AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association)

Lisa Fortier has worked as the Editor In Chief at AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Editor In Chief of the Journal of Cartilage and Joint Preservation at ICRS - International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society starting in October 2020. Lisa's work experience also includes being the James Law Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, a position they have held since 1992.

Lisa Fortier attended Colorado State University from 1988 to 1991, where they pursued a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Lisa then went on to study at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where they obtained a degree in Equine Surgery and became Board Certified in the field. Additionally, Lisa pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in Cartilage Repair.
