Paula Parker has a strong background in the veterinary field. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at The Australian Veterinary Association, starting as a Director and later becoming the President. In 2020, they joined AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) as an Assistant Director. In July 2022, they were promoted to the role of Chief of Professional Relationships and Strategic Initiatives.

Paula Parker's education history includes several degrees and certifications. Paula completed their Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences with Honours (BVSc) with a high distinction from The University of Queensland in 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies from Murdoch University, specializing in Small/Companion Animal Surgery and Medicine, which they completed in 2013. Paula further enhanced their skills and knowledge by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business in 2017. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Emergency and Critical Care from the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the same year. Paula also acquired a certification in Governance from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2017.
